Welcome to Delphi Academy of Santa Monica! 

Our philosophy of education is simple. Students should master their basic tools very well - then learn to really use what they learn.

We emphasize practical application, because 
only in meaningful use can one work out the proper value of the many pieces of knowledge encountered in an education. This approach keeps our students continually evaluating new information in relation to the real world. Their education becomes something they build and own, not something piled onto them. In the end, we want to see our students maintain their individuality, and become self- motivated, confident, active and purposeful individuals who are capable of pursuing and reaching their chosen goals.

A young child has a natural thirst for learning.  Our Lower School program (early kindergarten through 3^rd grade) is designed to nurture that natural enthusiasm and interest while instilling in each child increasing confidence in the ability to tackle the world around him.

Our nationally recognized early reading program has successfully taught 3, 4 and 5 year olds to read competently while opening up the world of knowledge and enjoyment found in books.   As our students move up the grades (we go through 6^th grade), and their reading abilities increase, they are introduced to different genres and typically read and enjoy about 250 – 300 books per year.  Writing and mathematics are likewise very strong.

We build on the strong academic basics with a rich integrated curriculum that spans all subjects including science, geography, history, creative writing, foreign language, current events, literature, research and more.  Since all subjects emphasize practical application, there’s a focus on hands-on activities, projects, community service and monthly field trips.

Music, performing arts and fine arts are prominent features of the school with opportunities throughout the year to perform at our various special events and assemblies. 

Physical education is given daily importance with professional instruction at all levels.
